Bon Iver

hear bon iver live...check!

last thursday i went to brisbane for a one and only experience! to hear one of my all time favourite bands playing live..final conclusion? it was well worth it!

this band has a original and unique sound..the harmonie of the voices..the purpose of every single intrument and note and the melodies are something that can only come from the mind of Justin Vernon!

and that man has a voice! a fantastic transition between the falsetto and his "normal tune"!

i leave you with some pics and videos...and by the way thank you Eduardo Bicacro for showing me this guy almost 4 years ago!

check the videos in the bottom or at here: http://www.youtube.com/user/simaoluz/videos

The concert was at The Tivoli..a very small place! no wonder the tickets for the 3 nights sold out fast

the lab instructor

my first two weeks of lab teaching went fast..had 5 different groups of 1st year exercise science students

at the beginning i confess i was a little bit nervous..in 5 years at IST i cant barely remember a teacher making a mistake and if asked anything a little bit off topic they always knew the answer..so i had my standards pretty high..i was afraid i was going to make some big time mistake or say something really stupid but in the end i think it ended well..the lower levels of australians uni students helped!

it was in fact a big surprise for me..not counting some exceptions in almost every groups someone asked me what a ratio was..didnt know what a log was..didnt know how to do a simple equation..etc etc

in this lab basically they started with a very simple quiz that counts to their evaluation then they were also evaluated for their lab performance..but if they just did what they were supposed to do in the lab ( weight, stature, circunferences, skinfolds) and answer some logic questions in the end they had the maximum grade...
i still remember the time when we had to prepare the lab before..work our ass of to do all the jobs because alot of times we didnt even had covered that topic before and then write a considerable report! by the end of it scoring 15 (0-20) was a really good job!

dont know how aussies students are going to compete with the rest of the world..the asians are their only hope!
